Bob

Bob is the President of Frames and Things in Brownwood, TX.


He was born in Santa Anna, TX in 1943. His family has extensive background and roots in Central Texas. His Grandmother was born in Sipe Springs, TX in Comanche County. Her father, Bob Biggs, was a Primitive Baptist Minister who rode a circuit through Comanche, Brown, and Coleman counties in the late 1800’s and early 1900’s.


Bob began his framing career in 1970 managing an American Handicraft store for Tandy Corporation. In 1974, he was employed by House of Frames in Dallas, TX. In 9 years, he took the next to last store in sales to the third highest store out of 65 stores. In 1983, Bob bought Winn's Art and Frame in Brownwood, TX, and renamed it Frames and Things. This store has been in Brownwood since 1947. (Carl Earnest and Myron Embrey opened this store on March 1st, 1947.) The sales since 1983 have quadrupled. Customers of Frames and Things come from all over the world including Japan, France, Russia, England, Hawaii, Alaska, and most of the other lower 48 states.


Bob has been the recipient of many awards including: High School Senior Year Salutatorian of his Senior class, All District Football, and Cum Laude at Odessa College.


He served in the US Air Force from 1962 - 1966 as Crew Chief of B-52 Aircraft.


In his professional career, he has gained two awards. While at American Handicraft he received an award for Outstanding Performance, and at House of Frames he was Manager of the Year.


Bob has been involved in many organizations in both Brownwood and his hometown of Santa Anna. He served as a Board member for Downtown Brownwood for 15 years and was President of the Board for 3 of those years. He also served for 3 years on both the Brownwood Area Chamber of Commerce Board and Brownwood Youth Commission Advisory Board. In Santa Anna, he was President of the Santa Anna Athletic Booster Club for 5 years and was the Club's President for 2 years. He has served on various other committees in his goal of promoting Brownwood.

Annita

Annita Rushing is a designer and framer at Frames and Things.


She was born in Brownwood, Texas, in 1956. She attended school in Brownwood her entire life and graduated from Brownwood High School in 1974. During high school she was a member of the Brownwood High School A cappella Choir for three years. She also played piano and still loves music of various artists. She was an active member of the Gospel Assembly Church.


Annita is married with two grown children. In 1984, she was employed at Frames and Things. She learned from the ground up all aspects of custom picture framing. Bob Pritchard and Carl Earnest taught her the art of stretching counted cross stitch, needlepoint, and canvas helping to make her 25 years in the business successful. She was promoted to Store Manager/Senior Framer four years ago. Designing shadowboxes is just one of her passions.


Annita has made many friends through framing and continues to this day striving to give her best personal service possible.
